I found the most amazing storage cabinets for my room at the local Salvation Army Store! The sewing / laundry room is looking so much bigger with out the counter top cabinets in there that I passed on to Jon. Spent the weekend putting things in place and had planned to spend Monday folding, petting and sorting my stash into its new home. Murphy had other ideas though. Sunday morning my washing machine made a horrifying noise. Sunday afternoon the refrigerator decided it wanted in on the action too and produced its own version of nasty noise. Lucky for me my dependable repair guy was able to come by Monday bright and early. Fridge was an easy fix, just a little slow drippy leak that had froze up the fan. The washing machine however was pronounced dead. I shouldn't complain, it had served faithfully for over 12 years. Time for a new washer, but there was just one little problem. 12 years ago, shortly after buying the old washer, we converted the garage. The only door was 24 inches wide. The old washer could not come out and a new one could not go in. My Super Hero Husband is very handy, but even he admits he is in no way a carpenter. Best Bud Larry had the tools and the know how though. Watching Jon saw through my house has got to be one of the most disturbing things I have ever experienced! He even found an electrical outlet that had been covered over at some point. Now we have the new doorway roughed in and the old washer moved out. Lowe's is delivering new washer after lunch, and the weekend project will be to frame the door and re panel the kitchen wall. Having a bigger doorway is going to be wonderful!
