I asked the kids if any of them had a hoody that was ready to be retired. Lucky for Waa Waa, Stevie had one. Time for some home made doggie jammies. The first thing to do is cut the sleeve off the hoody. Cut it close to the shoulder and leave the cuff attached.
Then I slip it over Mr. Waa Waa's head and mark where his legs would be. We are not being fancy here, we want functionality. Use your scissors and cut an X on your mark. Pull it open a bit with your fingers to assure the little guys has enough freedom to walk without being bound up. Nobody likes tight jammies.
Try it on again placing pup's legs through the holes. Now fold up the back to the length you want and trim it again. I leave his a bit long, and fold them up over his chest when he runs outside. That way we avoid sprinkles!
Waa Waa loves his jammies and will actually bring them to me when he gets cold. Today though they just aren't enough. He finally stopped shivering after getting his new duds, his favorite fuzzy blanket and a pillow fort! Can you say...S.P.O.I.L.E.D?

Can you believe this weather? It was thundering while it was sleeting. My poor weiner dogs.. they are not liking the weather either.. they are "holding it" as long as possible then racing out and going as fast as they can. Only my baby girl has a cute pink jacket.. I think I need to make something for the boys. It isn't often that they need something but when they do.. they are such babies.
I feel so sorry for you. Up here we are familiar with winter and prepare for it months in advance. We have everything to get us through. I hope it warms up for all of you soon.
Hey, thanks for that! I have a similarly shivering little one at home, Hops (we call him Hopsicle when it gets like this) and he will appreciate. I will appreciate not having to sew.
Great idea!!!
That is so cute! Come see the cupcake quilt I made from your pattern. http://litandlaundry.blogspot.com/2011/02/finished-for-friday-cupcake-quilt.html
